Dear Patron,
Since 1983, TRIBECA Performing Arts Center has become more than just the largest performing arts center in downtown Manhattan. We not only have welcomed international stars to our two stages, but we have also created a home and showcase for emerging artists from our neighborhoods. Our season includes exciting and diverse theater, music, dance and a new visual arts program for audiences of every age. Your participation has been essential to our success, and we ask you today to contribute to TRIBECA PAC at any level and help us rebuild the future of the Arts in Lower Manhattan.
Our children's programs provide arts and cultural experiences for schools and families: Family, Folk & Fairytales brings the family together on weekend afternoons for great shows such as “Aesop Bops” with David Gonzalez, “The Snow Dragon,” and “Jabali African Acrobats.” Our Schooltime Series presents theater, music and dance that educates - and entertains – for thousands of New York City school children. Students from P. S. 227 wrote us after seeing The City that Drinks the Mountain Sky:
“Thank you for letting us see the show…the show was wonderful!” – “Thanks for
inviting us, I am amazed of how one person does all the talking”- “The show was
great I loved it, Thank you."
In 1998, ten performing arts centers, from New York to Kansas City, partnered to celebrate historic jazz clubs. Only TRIBECA continues Lost Jazz Shrines to recreate each year, in concert and lecture, the clubs that brought jazz – this season we are featuring Tin Palace – paying homage to Eddie Jefferson and a selection of Brazilian music presented at the venue during the 1970's. TRIBECA PAC is the only organization to continue this program. Our Jazz in Progress concert series has also entered into a partnership with the Thelonious Monk Jazz Institute, presenting their top three winners of the 19th Annual Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition at our theatre.
As we grow, it becomes more difficult to balance our dreams and hopes for the future with financial reality. Your tax-deductible contribution will ensure that we can continue to support the artists who bring such diverse and engaging work to our season. We hope that you join us by giving and supporting Tribeca Performing Arts Center.
Thank you for your support and friendship. We look forward to seeing you soon as a member of TRIBECA PAC.
